Human-Nature Human-Nature June 1 Through July 1, 1991 Indigo Gallery Los Angeles Press Release May 1991 David Robin, an emerging top fashion and commercial photographer, will unveil a one-man show in Los Angeles June 7. The show, "Human Nature", will be on display at Indigo Gallery for one month beginning with a special preview on June 7 from 2:00-4:00p.m. The essence of "Human Nature" is the intimate connection between the human form and the patterns found in the natural environment. The show consists of 20 distinctive black and white images; four of them are larger-than-life, depicting the similarities or contrast of the human body to shapes and curves in nature. In one pair of images, the flowing form of an introspective nude reflects the strength and solid curves of a desert cactus. " Nature is the purest and most honest form of art," said Robin. "I believe, in many instances, nature offers the ultimate insight into human motivation and character." In the "Human Nature pieces, Robin uses an innovative bleaching technique he developed more than ten years ago to create the evocative effect linking the positive and negative forms. Robin has more than fifteen years of experience as a fashion and commercial photographer for several internationally recognized clients. His clients have included Levi Strauss, Sony, and Polygram Records.
